American Museum in Britain (Bath)

The mister and I recently had a weekend jaunt to Bath, because I just had to see 'The Colourful World of Kaffe Fassett' exhibition.

I know I have probably almost certainly seen everything in the exhibition before, but I still wanted to go, that's how I am. Can't have too much of a good thing in my book. I loved it of course. But the American Museum was quite an experience too. Very Folksy and interesting. I'm not going to fill your heads with facts about the day, I'll simply (lazily) show you some gorgeous, if not somewhat blurry pics. I know you will 'get it'. It's COLOUR after all.

I'll pop back soon with some Museum images, otherwise I fear you may nod off, scrolling and scrolling...........................

  1. Nowt like a good scroll....! :)
As one Egyptian said to the other...!
Pyramids...! Go! Feed yer Asp! :>).

I must say, one of my favourite places in the u.k.
(Not that l've been to many). Is Bath....Worked there
for some years, and done a lot of business there. Lots
of money about, and, l certainly made a few people part
with it...! Earning them a lot in return...!
Always found it clean and tidy, though the people are
stuck up, and, not to friendly, still, it's what you expect,
of a city that size. That's why l hate London, and, all that
goes with it..! Each to his own l suppose....And, l'm a
    country walla! :).

I doooo like that 'pinky' room, with the large windows at the
end...Yeah! I could live with that....Bit like my downstairs loo!
Without the paper...At least in my loo, you get a choice of four
    types of paper...."Nuff Said". HeHe!

So...Don't ang about...Lets have the rest of the photos....You
won't catch me dozing off....My names not Noddy!

  3. Yes, Bath is gorgeous. I am still horrified that during the two years I lived there I never went to the American museum, or the Roman Baths! But wow, the colour! I wonder if I could live with such an explosion of pink?

    1. Dare I say it? Pink is not my thing really. But I love Kaffe's use of it.

  4. I am glad that you managed to visit the exhibition, I think that it must be very close to finishing now.
I would just love Kaffe's painting of the colourful vases, it is so joyous, and makes me smile.

  5. I love his work - the exhibition looks stunning - have you ever seen pictures of his home - that is an exhibition in itself.

    1. Luckily I have been to his London house. A couple of years ago I was helping with another exhibition, and Brandon his partner invited me up to help choose items to be shown. I've met him a couple of times and also have a painting of his, which I will probably show in my next post. Kaffe and Brandon both are really lovely people.

I'm sure most folk who live in the UK have heard of Emma Bridgewater, who, when only a young woman had the desire and the vision ...
