Real name....Diana Mary Fluck...!
ReplyDeleteHeHe! It's a good job her parents
did'nt stutter...! :).
She'd been around to...Less said!
Though l think the best film she ever
made was 'Yield to the Night'. 1956.
She played a condemned killer in prison.
Brilliant...!
And, yes, Donald Sinden..Died last Thursday!
Like him..Brilliant actor and appeared in some 70
films, especially the early B/White ones!
Famous for his voice of course!
Good age, I hope he had a good life x
ReplyDeleteA good age to go though, however sad the passing.
ReplyDeleteI remember Donald Sinden from Two's Company with Elaine Strich. It's always very sad to hear that these actors who have been around for years have passed away.
ReplyDeleteYes, because it's the end of an era too. Those quirky, funny, very British characters with their impossible accents.

I wonder how many of these '50s stars are still around? Earlier this year, I saw Diana Dors in a film made in 1949 called "A Boy, a Girl and a Bike". It also starred Anthony Newley (not around) as a schoolboy and Honor Blackman (still around, hooray) as a Yorkshire lass. A gem of a film - see it if you get the chance!
ReplyDeleteAh, I didn't know he'd died, that's so sad, but he was a good age.
ReplyDeleteI feel the need to curl up and watch one of his films now.
Any recommendations? x
Hi Yvonne, I would recommend Mogambo as you get an added bonus of Clark Gable, Ava Gardner and Grace Kelly. Or a rather charming British whimsical film called Mad about Men, with Glynis Johns as Miranda the mermaid and best of all margaret Rutherford as her nurse.
