Embracing Autumn

The changes in seasons can be hard, I find the encroaching darkness the hardest aspect and the drizzly days. But I'm trying to focus on the positive. I do love a log burner and candles always look better in the darker months. Hearty comforting food is just that at this time of year. Shepherd's pie, spicy curries, slow cooker stews , rich in flavour and so warming. As you know dear reader we are hoping to move to Norfolk by the sea as soon as we can sell our house so we are both determined to cosy up and enjoy the next few months in this house whilst trying not to yearn for future sunnier climes. I hope you all are keeping well and warm, enjoy Halloween tomorrow and settle into Autumn.

  1. What a fabulous vignette my friend! It bespeaks the best of autumn. I, too, am trying to savor what is left of it and not dwell on what will follow. A sunny spot by the sea sounds very enticing. Happy haunting! ~Robin~

  2. Log burners and drawn curtains make the evenings cosy.

    1. I look forward to the lighting of the fire in the evening, the trick is not to pour a glass of wine every time, ha ha.

  3. I agree with you Jean - the seasons change can be hard to navigate. Spring & autumn are both my favorites but our springs now are wet & cold & windy. so its hard to enjoy them. Wishing you a wonderful autumn - yes enjoy those candles & cosy fires. xx
