Coronation Bliss
Oh my, the whole event was totally amazing. Everything aesthetical oozed class but also the intent behind it was just as classy. All the symbols weaved throughout the service spoke of, peace, mercy, equality, kindness, love and care taking. I found it very moving. Can you imagine any other monarch in the world having their pet animals embroidered on a coronation gown. Says it all really. Bluebell and Beth formerly of The Battersea Dogs Home are much loved.
My view from the sofa during the service.

Emma Bridgewater - One of My Heroines
I'm sure most folk who live in the UK have heard of Emma Bridgewater, who, when only a young woman had the desire and the vision ...

When you've been on the planet some 50 years + it's not often you can say you've seen something so extraordinary, it was breath...
Lovely view indeed.... I only was able to catch bits and snippets from "reruns" of the event as it was much to early for this crank to be up and about but it seemed incredible. We have nothing like your traditions of such pomp and circumstance. I had not seen the gown with the dogs - amazing! And, yes, it speaks volumes. ~Robin~
ReplyDeleteOf course I watched the whole thing. Couldn't take my eyes off the whole event. Simply wonderful.
DeleteWe've just watched part of it, but I must say I found it very moving too. I'd no idea about the embroidered pets though. How utterly delightful! Loving your view from the sofa, those fondants are looking truly scrumptious. xxx
ReplyDeleteThe whole event was amazing as were the cakes. I didn't notice the doggie embroidery until after the event though.
DeleteIt was lovely wasn't it, I thought Charles looked very nervous at times but everything went off without a hitch. I do love all the pomp and ceremony and seeing all the armed forces marching together like that was just wonderful.
ReplyDeleteHe was nervous and humble I thought. When William pledged his loyalty to his father and the King said, thank you my boy, I almost burst into tears. Must be my age.
DeleteThe embroidery is beautiful. Hope you enjoyed those fondant fancies!
ReplyDeleteI did indeed. Thank you for popping by.
DeleteI was up with the Lark at 3am, teapot at the ready and a plate full of raspberry scones awaiting my indulgence. I thought the entire Coronation was magnificent especially the Military parade.
ReplyDeleteWhat a spectacular view you enjoyed.
~Jo
