We had a super afternoon and evening yesterday. Friends arrived at 4.15 for afternoon tea, then we watched the Party at the Palace, with another lot of lovely nosh and drinks. The Queen with Paddington Bear brought a tear to my eye. We finally got to bed around midnight after a wonderful day. Makes me proud to be British.
Glad to hear you had such a wonderful time. I'm not British, but after visiting your lovely country almost yearly since I was 15, I definitely feel like an honourary one :-) Still have to check out The Queen with Paddington Bear, though! xxx
ReplyDeleteI've been trying to get a link to the Paddington bear piece, but can't copy the link. I think because of BBC copyright. I do hope you get to see it, it's about 4 minutes long. You must let me know when you next come to UK.
DeleteFrom the snippets I saw, it was a glorious celebration. I did see a clip of the queen and Paddington...so very sweet. Your tea set up looks lovely....that trifle!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️ Do you have a recipe you'd consider sharing?? I don't even know what all is in it, but it looks wonderful. ~Robin~ (PS...what are those amazing flowers tumbling over your walls????)
ReplyDeleteThe trifle combination was created by the winner of a competition to find the perfect Platinum Jubilee dessert. It is bascially a lemon trifle. I'm hoping this link will work for you.
