A new exhibition at Chatsworth which I'm pleased to say I helped with in a tiny way, and I mean teeny tiny.
The gorgeous pink confection of a dress and the Elvis slippers were actually owned and worn by Debo. A huge fan of Elvis, she sadly didn't get to meet him.
Such beautiful clothes, painstakingly created by skilled designers, embroiderers and needlewomen.
ReplyDeleteThey are extraordinary just like Debo
DeleteWhat a fabulous collection and display! So evocative I can almost hear music of the time playing. ~Robin~
ReplyDeleteIf you were at the exhibition you would hear Elvis singing, 'you were always on my mind'. The collection was launched at the British Museum and there is a film of it playing behind the outfits. Wonderful stuff.
DeleteLooks a lovely exhibition at Chatsworth, I enjoyed seeing your photographs.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Thanks Jan.
