Real People Real Times
Hello blogging chums, it has been a while. A horrible bout of ill health, now under control has prevailed, it mysteriously took my blogging mojo with it. Today though I saw a little film of Steve Harley singing in 1975. It reminded me that I am a very lucky person to have lived through that era, when people were all individuals making their own kind of music and developing their own sense of style. Real people in real times. Sad that he has passed.

So sorry to hear you've not been well...hoping it wasn't anything serious. I love coming to visit your blog as it seems I always learn something new. I'd never heard of Steve Harley before. So fun seeing the fashions from "back then." Happy Monday. ~Robin~
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely to see a post from you, Jean. And I'm glad you're feeling better. Xx
ReplyDeleteHello Jean ... so sorry to read you have been unwell & hope you are now on the road to a good recovery. Take care Jean xx
ReplyDeleteThank you julie.
DeleteForgot to add .... I just love the dried flowers hanging up in your Header pic. 🖤
ReplyDeleteThe flowers were in the back room of The Porters Arms tap room in Norfolk, where we visited a while back.
DeleteI'm sorry to read you've been unwell, but glad it's now under control.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing that video. At age 13, Cockney Rebel were the first band I really fell for, and actually I still love listening to their first albums. I was sad to hear of Steve Harley's passing, and have been playing Make Me Smile in my head ever since I heard. In Belgium, they hit number one with Sebastian, so they were actually bigger here in Belgium than in the UK at the time. Such a brilliant song, and a brilliant musician! xxx
Good memories.
DeleteI'm sorry to hear you've been ill, I hope you're feeling much better now. Yes, I saw that Steve Harley had died, a musician who influenced many after him.
ReplyDeleteI was sorry to read you have not been well, pleased you are now feeling better and it's under control.
ReplyDeleteOn hearing the news about Steve Harley, like many others, I had 'Make Me Smile' going round and round my head.
All the best Jan
